about the studio

Hello! My name is Angelina Rejino and I am the art instructor at our home based studio, Art Creatures. The studio got its name because we love art, children, and pets. We strive to create a warm, friendly learning environment for our "art creatures," ages 6-17 (sometimes, younger kids can enroll, depending on their ability to focus, and their interest.) 

In our Children's Art Program, we first teach the basics of drawing and painting. We cover basic art techniques in various mediums, starting with charcoal pencil, charcoal, pastels, and watercolor. As the student gains confidence, the subject matter becomes more complex, and more techniques are covered. Acrylics and oil painting techniques are presented in progressive steps. Besides the mechanics of drawing, painting and the art vocabulary, we explore finer components of art, such as composition, creating the illusion of depth, tone drawing, and color theory. We have fun with some fashion, garden and home design, and graphic design projects that encourage individual creativity and teach about various professions an artist can have. The students are taught to create art that is aesthetically appealing and beautiful. 

My education consists of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Art, and years of study in Fine Art with internationally acclaimed artists and art instructors. Art Creatures originated in Hollywood, CA in 2004 as a small home-based art studio and became a place of art learning and art making for 36 boys and girls in just three years. We continued to enjoy our location in Los Angeles for 9 years then moved onto other locations in Southern California before moving to El Dorado Hills, CA in 2018. Our goal is to give children the art skills and confidence they need to call themselves artists, while having a positive and fun learning atmosphere. We strive to showcase their art at least once a year to give them pride and self esteem for their achievements. Individual student art galleries will also be posted online and on Facebook for family and friends to view.
